Power cuts in the UK are usually short and local, often after storms. The UK government's preparedness advice suggests every home keeps a few basics ready, so a power cut is an inconvenience rather than a worry.

If your power goes off, call 105 free from any phone to report it or get updates from your local network. Read the official advice at gov.uk.

How long does delivery take?

Every order is sent from UK stock and usually arrives in 2–5 working days, with tracking. If you order several items or a kit, they may come in separate parcels. Delivery is free over £30, otherwise £3.95.

How do I pay? Do I need PayPal?

You can pay by debit or credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. You don't need a PayPal account: choose "Debit or Credit Card" at checkout. Payments are handled securely by PayPal and we never see your card details.

Will I get tracking?

Yes. As soon as your parcel is on its way, we'll email you the tracking number.

Can I return something?

Yes. Unused items can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Faulty items are always replaced or refunded.

What should I do in a power cut?

Check whether it's just your home: look at your fuse box, and see if neighbours' lights are on. Then call 105 free to report it or get updates from your local network. Use torches and lanterns rather than candles, keep fridge and freezer doors closed, and check on elderly or vulnerable neighbours.

Can I send it to a family member?

Yes, just enter their address at checkout. Items are sent directly from our UK suppliers, so we can't add a note, and there may be paperwork in the box.

How long do they stay charged?

Charge everything fully when it arrives, then top it up every couple of months so it's ready when you need it. How long a light lasts depends on the brightness setting: lower settings last much longer. Our product pages show the manufacturer's figures where we have them.
